Assumed return 12 percent a year, not a forecast.

How it works

A step-up (or top-up) SIP raises the instalment once a year, usually in line with salary increases. The calculator raises the amount at the start of each new year and compounds monthly, then shows the extra value compared with keeping the SIP flat.

Formula

Each year: SIP(y) = SIP(1) x (1 + step)^(y - 1); value compounds monthly at the assumed rate

Frequently asked questions

A SIP whose monthly amount increases by a set percentage or amount every year.

How much difference does a step-up make?

It depends on the step and the years; the result line "Extra from stepping up" shows it for your inputs.

Is the return guaranteed?
